Gypsy Wind performs a blend of music which explores the connection between traditional American and Celtic acoustic music. Featuring fiddle, banjo, guitar, keyboard, pennywhistle, and world percussion, the group presents a fresh perspective on the traditions embodied within these genres.

The quartet is comprised of two talented couples who bring together a diversity of experience. Fiddler, banjo-player and vocalist Steve Quillen and guitarist, vocalist Ali Reed Quillen have appeared throughout the Mid-Atlantic region as the folk duo "Kindred Spirits".

After spending five years driving the wacky quintet "Big Blow and the Bushwackers" with various percussion sounds, Mike Haensler adds a unique world of flavor to the mix. His wife Alison Heckler-Haensler rounds out the quartet with her expressive vocals and sprightly keyboard work.

Comfortable in both pub and concert settings, this group's diversity, charm and originality appeal to a wide variety of audiences.
